Love And Envy (Mon Amour De Ma Famille Et L'Envie De Mes Voisins)
written by Elizabeth-Jeanne Bani
I love everyone. I live a quiet and pure life. My neighbors run around my building all day and night. I do not know my neighbors. I have never talked to them. But my neighbors' malice toward me has no end. In my vision, I saw someone, Whose face was as radiant as the midday sun. The brightness of his glory filled my heart. I said to the angel of God, "I want to meet my grandfather and live with him. I know that the LORD can do anything. In my absence, unknown people enter my home. Sometimes, strangers answer my phone. I do not get all of my e-mail, And my neighbors are stealing my mail. Illegally, they block the access to my street. Inspired by envy, they practice deceit. Some people are naive and do not know That neighbors have no right to block the road." He answered that the freedom of communication will be restored to me And I will live in the fullness of liberty, My neighbors’ plot to destroy my life will not succeed, And the season of my affliction will end, I will no longer be lonely, deprived of the relationship with my very own grandfather Through the deceit of crafty women and vile men. In my vision, I saw that my neighbors fled And I heard harsh voices coming from the road outside my home, Shouting at each other. Angels came, singing a joyful sonnet. I was united with my grandfather. My grandfather met me with open arms. I was filled with overflowing joy from his embrace. All my being blessed the holy name of God with thanksgiving and praise. In my vision, I saw my grandfather and I were dining together And we greatly enjoyed each other. I was overtaken with joy to be with My most wonderful and most special grandfather. My never failing love for my grandfather never ends, In sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth. My love for my grandfather is loyal, unconditional, meek, gentle and kind Because I am his own offspring. And because my grandfather is mine. I have never asked my grandfather for anything, And I have never even thought to ask. I would like to give him all things and bring unspeakable joy into his life. The call of my family blood cries inside my heart How much I want to be with my grandfather. I dream of cooking dinner for my grand-papa To make him happy and help him in every way. Grand-papa, I want to do what you say. I like whatever you like. I dislike whatever you dislike. Grand-papa, I will go with you Wherever you want to go. I will live with you Wherever you want to live. And I believe all that you believe. My life’s greatest desire is to meet my grandfather. God grant me favor with all who love their families And delight in the immediate family love in the lives of others.
This poem is dedicated to my wonderful, greatly loved grandfather and to my saintly, angelic mother, Angela Lucienne Bani, the most beautiful and fascinating woman in the world.
